Speaker A

To be honest, I haven’t travelled much yet. We went to a maths competition in Kazan last year, and it was the first time I ever left my region! I loved Kazan, it is such a unique combination of historical and modern architecture. I wish I could visit more places in the future. This autumn we are hoping to go to a competition in India! I’m very excited about this trip, I hope everything works out fine with the weather and everything. It’s great when studying well gives you the opportunity to see the world.

Speaker B

I have visited three countries already, and of course I’d like to visit more. My parents are avid travellers — they have been all over the world! They like hiking and cycling, and they were actually able to cross a lot of countries on foot or on their bikes. When I was growing up, I always wanted to join them, but they believed that I was too young for such exhausting trips. Of course, it was very disappointing, but when I was actually allowed to join them on a trip to Mongolia, I realized how hard it was indeed! Still, it was an unbelievable experience.

Speaker C

You know, I actually really like my own region. Here we have everything: the mountains, the forests, and the sea. My friends think that I’m missing out by not venturing out more, and I always argue with them about it. I know our area like the back of my hand, and I love showing visitors around. Some people suggested that I could be a good tour guide, and I’m seriously considering studying touristic business at the university as my major.

Speaker D

I travel pretty often, but there is one serious problem — I’m really afraid of flying. I would really like to visit some faraway places — the thing is, it would take a very long time by train from where I live. It’s very disappointing, but, unfortunately, I can’t manage my fear of flying well enough to overcome it completely. As a result, I’m pretty limited in my choices of travelling destinations. Hopefully, I’ll beat my phobia one day — or scientists will invent teleportation!

Speaker E

I’m not a huge fan of travelling, and here is why — I can only go places in summer, and travelling during the summer is a complete nightmare. Going by bus is incredibly hot and uncomfortable, trains and planes are packed with other tourists who all want to visit the same places... If I spend too much time in a hot and crowded environment, I might get sick, and a couple of my vacations were ruined like that. So I’d rather save up money, stay at home and simply walk around the town.

Speaker F

We travel quite often with my friends. I really love that we are such a tight- knit crew. One person is always responsible for buying tickets, another — for booking the hotel, and so on. Personally, I am in charge of our schedule — I plan everything related to sightseeing, exhibitions, tours and everything like that. I’m a big fan of this role, as I like doing research and considering options. Our trips together always work like a clock — no surprises or disappointments!

  1. Crafts museums are representatives of local traditions.
  2. Tourists have a deeper understanding of the life of local people.
  3. Museums which attract adults.
  4. The museum which has an unusual theme.
  5. Museums reveal local history.
  6. The variety of museums is helpful.
  7. The museum which helps you to understand science.
Решение

Speaker A

When people travel to new places, they often choose the local museums as a must-see place. Sometimes museums are even more attractive than the most famous place of interest. This phenomenon can be easily explained if the function of museums is taken into account. As we have known, museums can help us know the history, the customs and the most representative products of that place. Different places have different history. And the most convenient way to know it is to visit the local museum.

Speaker B

Last year when I travelled in some region and went to the oldest city there, I went to history museum to explore the course of its development. With the background knowledge provided by the museum, I found that it was easier for me to understand the city. So the museum can clear away the barriers between tourists and the city by making them familiar with its history. To a tourist, the most attractive part of a place is usually its customs, which can be demonstrated by the local museum.

Speaker C

Every place has its own representative products, which are usually handcrafts. Tourists can have the access to a wonderful show of these handicrafts in the local museum. For example, in my native town — the most famous pottery-making place in the region, tourists can be excited by the beautiful pottery products and the complicated making process exhibited in the pottery museum. It will be a pity for a tourist not to experience the wonderful show of the local products in the museum.

Speaker D

Museums are fun. Even if you are not interested in art or history, there is always something to get your attention. Many museums now have what they call “hands-on” exhibits. These were originally designed to keep children occupied while their parents were looking at exhibits. However, museums have found that adults enjoy hands-on opportunities just as much as children. These exhibits have activities like pushing a button to hear more about what you are looking at, creating your own work of art, or trying on clothes like those on the models in the museum.

Speaker E

People often enjoy visiting museums about unusual subjects. For instance, in my hometown there is a museum devoted to the potato. This museum has art made of potatoes. It also tells us all about the history of the potato, and sells potato mementos like key chains and potato dolls. People enjoy visiting this museum because it is different. It is not something they would find in their hometown and the museum’s curators enjoy talking about the Great Potato.

Speaker F

When you arrive in a place, ask which kinds of museums they have. To do this you can know what the people there like. For example, if there are a lot of art museums, the people must like art a lot. So you can enjoy an atmosphere of art there. If there is a history museum, it’s the best way to know the history of the area. Want to visit a nature museum? It’s a good idea. There must be introduction about the natural environment there. We can get information about why people there eat this kind of food, maybe it’s because of the weather.

  1. To be well-equipped is essential in some places.
  2. Holidays in contrast are attractive.
  3. Going along could be communicative at times.
  4. Living in resort places is comfortable.
  5. Some disappointing aspects are inevitable.
  6. Being with close people is the best holiday idea.
  7. Going off the beaten tracks is attractive.
Решение

Speaker A

Well, I like, I’ve always liked living near the sea, I like having the beach there, although it’s a bit disappointing in Portsmouth because there’s no surf. Surfing and water sports are necessary for me. Why not do what you enjoy while on holidays? It’s OK, surfing is OK for me. So, I’d like to go somewhere where there are some waves and maybe not hotter necessarily, but just more reliable climate, I just don't really like the rain.

Speaker B

It definitely should be a warm place with a warm climate, and with the sea. For example, I like Portsmouth, really, because I live not far from sea. It’s so great, as you are always at the seaside. I do not need long flying and driving to get to the place, the destination. And I have an opportunity to go to the beach every day after classes, or go jogging, which is also very lovely, so I think that an ideal place for me would be a place with a warm climate and the sea.

Speaker C

I think, about a year ago, there’s a couple of places I’ve been recently to, actually, I went to Cambodia with a friend of mine, which was really interesting just cause it is so different to England, you know, the food and culture, and there’s also, I mean, we went to several sort of places of historical interest, obviously there was the sort of Communist uprising, and we went to some places, really, sort of interesting and eye-opening in a sort of a historical way and there was also some, you know, some beautiful temples and stuff as well.

Speaker D

I think that it is Mexico. I visited it this April. I was really impressed by the Caribbean Sea, by the sun and beautiful beaches, sandy beaches with white sand, and of course, people. People impressed me very much, they were very open-minded and their level of English also was very good, so I had an opportunity to talk to people, to natives. I just went on holiday on my own, but, that way you’re kind of forced to interact with people there, and you, I sort of met a lot of interesting people through doing that. That was great!

Speaker E

You most of the time should visit the capital of a country, but bear in mind that London is not everything, you know, and there are lots of nice sort of pockets of rural land, and I mean, I really like Cornwall as a place to go to and spend some time, you’ve got some lovely sort of beach front there and if you like surfing and stuff like that, there’s sort of lots of outdoor activities you could do. Popular destinations are great but be an explorer and choose the places which are not in travel brochures.

Speaker F

If you are going to go to Russia in winter, I would like to advise you to take more warm clothes because in winter it can be really cold. For example, in area where I live, it’s not far from Moscow, it can be 20° below zero, but there is a lot of snow and you can enjoy playing snowballs and skiing, skating, and all kinds of these activities, and if you go in summer or autumn, I’d like to advise you to go to St Petersburg because it's one of my favourite cities, and it is very beautiful, has a lot of beautiful palaces, magnificent temples and churches, the Neva River and embankment will also impress you much.

  1. Reading fiction could be a good replacement for being on social media.
  2. We don’t read less than we used to, we just read different things.
  3. People shouldn’t be judged if they don’t like to read.
  4. Reading is much more beneficial than watching movies.
  5. Good books help to develop imagination.
  6. Audiobooks are helpful for slow readers.
  7. Reading too much can contribute to health problems.
Решение

Speaker A

If you ask me, I barely have any time to read. Don’t get me wrong — I read plenty of books, but these days it’s for my studies only. For me, reading for pleasure is very important, but there are only so many hours a day! Moreover, my eyesight has already started getting worse, and I’ve been told by a doctor that my eyes needed immediate rest. Because of this, unfortunately, I choose to read only the most necessary information.

Speaker B

To tell you the truth, I don’t understand why so many people nowadays claim that nobody reads anymore. Yes, we probably read paper books less often, that’s fair criticism — but being online 24/7, that is 24 hours 7 days a week, everything you do is read! Social media posts, blogs, forums... If anything, I would agree that we actually consume much, much more of written texts. Of course one could say that it’s not the same thing as reading high-quality intellectual fiction, but it’s better than nothing, I guess.

Speaker C

Personally, I don’t read anymore — I listen. Even though I really love good books, I’ve always been a very slow reader, which is incredibly annoying. Audiobooks have turned out to be an amazing solution to this problem. It’s very convenient to listen to them on any gadget you have, the voices of actors are usually very pleasant — and, what’s more important, you can listen to a good book while doing something else! I really like having an audiobook in the background when I cook or do stuff around the house. I’ve managed to finish several new books since I’ve started doing that.

Speaker D

To be completely honest, reading is, like, my only hobby. Of course, people often argue that reading is boring, or proclaim that reading is unnecessary in the age of digital media, but I simply couldn’t disagree more. I believe that reading is indispensable when it comes to developing imagination. When you watch a movie, you don’t have to think too hard about the characters’ appearance or the setting — everything is presented to you ready-made! While you’re reading, though, the world-building is completely up to you. Even though you rely on the author’s descriptions, each person would still have a unique picture in their head. It’s amazing!

Speaker E

I guess people always react in a very strange way when I say that — but no, I don’t like reading. There are so many different kinds of media in the modern world that I don’t quite understand why everyone is so focused on reading. It’s so old-fashioned! I would always choose a good movie or TV series over a book, and I don’t think there should be anything wrong with that. After all, a lot of books have been adapted into great movies, so I can always watch them. I wish everyone just accepted the fact that reading isn’t the only way to become smarter.

Speaker F

I completely agree that most of us don’t read that much anymore. On the one hand, it’s understandable, as we all have very busy lives. On the other hand, though, I believe that there are so many useless activities which could have been replaced by reading a good book. For example, if we simply counted all the time that we spend during the week scrolling our social media feeds, it would probably be enough to read a novel by Tolstoy! How about the next time you want to check your social media, you grab a book and read a few pages?

My earliest memory is of my third birthday party. It was a family celebration, I remember it precisely well. It was a birthday party surrounded by colorful balloons and a cake adorned with candles. I received many presents, and it was a memorable moment. I remember the excitement and the laughter of my family and friends, as we played games and sang songs. This memory holds a special place in my heart, representing the joy and love that filled my early years.

Speaker B

My earliest memory is of my first day of preschool, clutching my mother's hand as we entered the unfamiliar classroom. I was wearing a new school uniform which was new to me. I remember the mix of emotions – nervousness, excitement, and curiosity. The bright colours, toys, and friendly faces stand out in my mind. This memory represents the beginning of my educational journey and the sense of independence that came with it. It was a new sensation representing my new status.

Speaker C

My earliest memory is of a family trip to the beach. Then I was perhaps about two or two and a half years old. I remember that trip perfectly well, though. I recall the feel of the sand between my toes, the salty breeze on my face, and the sound of seagulls overhead. It was a day filled with laughter, building sandcastles, and splashing in the waves. I can recall swimming with my parents. This memory signifies the joy and freedom of childhood and the bond I shared with my family.

Speaker D

My earliest memory is of a thunderstorm that frightened me as a child. I think, I was four years old. I was frightened to death. I cannot remember why but I was alone in the room. What I remember quite well is that there were the flashes of lightning illuminating my room and the booming sound of thunder that made me seek comfort under the covers. To my mind, this memory represents my vulnerability and the need for reassurance from my parents.

Speaker E

My earliest memory is of a summer afternoon spent in my grandparents’ garden. It was the summer after my first year at school. I recall the vibrant colours of the flowers, the sweet fragrance in the air, and the gentle warmth of the sun on my skin. I would chase butterflies and pick ripe berries with my tiny fingers. I also remember eating them and their sweet sensation in my mouth. The nature was simple and simultaneously beautiful, the moments spent with my grandparents were inexplicably precious.

Speaker F

My earliest memory is of my parents reading bedtime stories to me. I don’t remember how old I was then but they read the stories to me till I was about twelve. I think, many people have similar moments to recall. I remember the comfort of their voices, the smell of the books, and the cozy feeling of being tucked in bed. I liked fairy-tales and the way my Mum and Dad read them to me. I think everybody will agree that such memories represent the importance of storytelling and the bond between parents and their children.

  2. Developing an underground transportation system is urgent.
  3. The consequences of the past events.
  4. City’s green belt makes better environment.
  5. Industrial development is important.
  6. The major element of a city qualification.
  7. Well-educated population is essential.
Решение

Speaker A

If I could change one important thing about my hometown, it would be air pollution problem. I hope my hometown can become a beautiful city. As an old industrial city, my hometown has made a great deal of contribution for the country’s economic development. As a result, the natural environment of the city has been badly damaged. The forest has disappeared; the mountains have become bald, and the most awful thing is that the air quality becomes worse. People seldom see the blue sky most time of the year.

Speaker B

If I could change one thing about my hometown, I would like to build up some useful and advanced facilities. A modern library and an advanced broad band system may bring a lot of changes to people living in my hometown and keep them up with the latest information and technology. In my opinion, a modern library in my hometown can provide a good environment for the local people to study and upgrade themselves. Knowledge can give us guidance to overcome problems we meet in our daily life.

Speaker C

An integrated gym is an important building which should be planned in my hometown. We need to do exercises to keep our healthy life. Through doing various exercises, such as swimming, jogging, playing badminton or tennis, people can enhance their ability to resist the virus and enjoy the life happily. Furthermore, people who do exercises have positive attitude towards life even when facing difficulties. This is really what I hope to see. This is the reason why I want to set up an integrated gym in my hometown.

Speaker D

With the development of my hometown in the past few years, the population is expanding very fast. The city is experiencing not only a higher birthrate than ever, but also waves of immigration. The streets in the city are crowded or even jammed during the rush hours. If I could change one thing about my hometown, I would develop an advanced public traffic system. A subway running through and round the city can solve the problem. People could live further away from the downtown without worrying about spending too much time on the way.

Speaker E

I am from a small town. And I am sure that building a factory in there will bring a lot of advantages. First of all, the factory’s construction will surely improve infrastructure. To run smoothly, the factory will have to have a steady, reliable supply of water and electricity. Some old pipes will be changed, and some facilities will be renovated. The residents’ living standards get improved as a result of these widespread changes. Most important, a factory establishment will bring up a lot of employment opportunities for the community.

Speaker F

The thing I want to change most in my town is the mass transportation system. It is a very important part of the city. It influences people’s daily life, work and entertainment. An effective mass transportation system can safe people’s time so that people can do more work hence to increase the city’s efficiency. A city with bad transportation system can’t be qualified as a good city, regardless the fact, how rich the city is and how big the city is. It’s essential for a city to have a good mass transportation system to be qualified a good city.

Junk mail, I hate that, really, a lot of it, every day some companies sent me a lot of junk mail and I don’t like that. It's usually something I really don’t want or need, you know. But I think it depends on the kind of email, so some emails are good, for example, I want to apply to universities, and many universities send me an email to explain about their policy, their systems or something like that, and I think it's useful. Sometimes it’s useful.

Speaker B

Well, I don’t know about you, but what I tend to do is have two different email accounts, so I have a personal, private email account that I use for work or for my friends, and then I have the other email account, so when I’m shopping online, I use that one, so I know that when I check that, I’m gonna have about 400 spam emails in a week, and then my other email account, I’Il have about two messages.

Speaker C

I think some engineer, computer engineer advised all the customers try to change your passwords maybe after a month or two months, so you can protect your password as well, and the spam, it means, rubbish email, cannot enter your address as well, and the other thing, sometimes when we buy goods online, sometimes it bothers me when the quality of goods is not as good as I expect, so I try to find a way to change my goods as well, and it also takes me long time to change and we also have to search for some more information online, it’s a problem as well.

Speaker D

I don’t know. I think sometimes it is nice when you get some pop-up ads, I don’t agree with the fact that nowadays with technology, they can track everything you’re doing on the Internet, so they know what you’re interested in, but occasionally, I mean, recently I was looking to buy a new camera, and I was just on the Internet, and ‘pop!’, and I had a little pop-up ad that came, and it was advertising a camera, and, ‘Actually, that’s exactly what I’ve been looking for,’ so OK, you know, one for the advertising, it did work on me, but I think I’m really susceptible to advertising.

Speaker E

Oh, you know, when you have like the late-night ads on TV and they always, they’re advertising something like the latest kitchen gadget, I’ll sit there and think “I need one of these! How have I lived my life without one?” and of course, you know, you buy it, you use it once, it doesn’t work, you put it in a cupboard, and it sits there, you know, for years, so. Would you say that advertising really works on you?

Speaker F

I think this depends on the number or the way they approach you, it makes you comfortable or not, and for example, I have an example, that, sometimes I watch a very favourite movies on TVs, that’s a film on TV or maybe a football match, where I, we say, that’s a very wonderful football match on the TV, so, sometimes advertisements break the match or break the news, the film as well, so I have to pause, to wait, and I feel very tired in that way, so I don’t like it. So you just want to focus on your programme, you don’t want to be interrupted by the ads.

  1. In the future, people will live in a strained state due to many reasons.
  2. The future of the natural habitat of the human race is in danger.
  3. Humans and AI might evolve together.
  4. The technologies of the future will support well-being of people.
  5. Difference in possibilities in the future will become even more acute.
  6. Technological advances will be the most remarkable trait of the future.
  7. The future will be characterized by increasing job insecurity.
Решение

Speaker A

If you ask me, I fear that the future will be anything like “The Terminator” science fiction movie. I think that the future will be a technological utopia where AI and automation have eradicated poverty, diseases, and mundane tasks, allowing humans to focus on personal growth and exploration. Technology is transforming at a mind-boggling pace. We are staring at a future where we can create and manipulate AI and virtual reality. Overall, my opinion envisions a future marked by abundance and intellectual pursuits.

Speaker B

It seems to me that everybody will agree that we live in the world of inequality. Inequality is crucial because it is an underlying factor and multiplier for a myriad of other issues, including education, healthcare, climate change mitigation, urban planning, and more. In my opinion, life in the future will be characterized by increased societal inequality due to the unequal distribution of resources and advancements. This perspective suggests that while technology might bring progress, it could also reinforce existing divisions and create new challenges for marginalized communities.

Speaker C

I’m not definitely sure but in my opinion the future will witness a significant change for the worse of the natural environment, with climate change and pollution making life more challenging. From my viewpoint, modern humankind has been destroying its natural surroundings at a terrifying rate. As the climate crisis escalates, it serves to exacerbate many of the other serious problems in our world today. I can’t but emphasize the urgency of addressing environmental issues and adopting sustainable practices to ensure a habitable planet for future generations.

Speaker D

I believe that life in the future will be marked by a harmonious coexistence between humans and advanced AI systems, leading to enhanced efficiency, personalized experiences, and improved decision-making. I put the emphasis on the integration and collaboration between humans and machines. On the one hand, I worry over the accompanying negatives of human-AI advances, but on the other side, I hope for broad changes for the better as networked, intelligent systems are revolutionizing everything, from the most pressing professional work to hundreds of the little “everyday”aspects of existence.

Speaker E

In my opinion, the future will witness radical advancements in medicine and biotechnology, allowing humans to live longer, healthier lives. I know that modern developments such as digitally mediated diagnostics and treatment, telehealth, and consumer-facing mobile health applications are now routinely used in self-management, health care and biomedical science. And I understand that these developments promise to drive earlier diagnoses and interventions, improve outcomes, and support more engaged patients. My viewpoint envisions a future where diseases are eradicated, and medical interventions become more personalized and precise.

Speaker F

We all know that life in the future will be shaped by geopolitical tensions and conflicts over scarce resources, such as water and energy. I know that the United Nations estimates that by 2025, two-thirds of the world’s population could be living in water-stressed conditions due to population growth, urbanization, and climate change. Similarly, energy demand is projected to increase by 50% by 2050. I think that my opinion underscores the importance of diplomacy, cooperation, and sustainable resource management to mitigate potential conflicts and ensure global stability.

  1. Online trends can help you learn a professional skill.
  2. Online trends can inspire you to pick up a new hobby.
  3. If you don’t use social media that much, you might not understand online culture.
  4. Online challenges are mostly unpleasant and harmful.
  5. Sometimes it is very easy to start an online trend.
  6. Creating something original is more worthy than repeating after everyone else.
  7. Following trends can create a sense of connection with other people.
Решение

Speaker A

I don’t enjoy online trends at all. A lot of them are silly and some are even dangerous. I’ve never seen anything interesting or smart — mostly just stupid pranks which require you to ruin things! My friends became victims of an online prank like that — some kids threw paint at their clothes, filmed it and laughed at them. It is awful, and I don’t understand why children and teens repeat stupid things that their peers do online. Don’t they ever think that somebody else can prank them? How about choosing some nice, kind and helpful action for a challenge? This could inspire people to do better.

Speaker B

I guess I don’t have an opinion on online trends — I’m just not online that much! I’m not a big fan of social media, and I don’t experience a lot of problems with that. Well, there is one small problem, actually — often my friends would mention a trend or a person popular online, or reference a joke which they saw on the Internet, and I would have no clue what they are talking about! It’s not very pleasant to be out of the loop, but this issue alone is not enough to make me go on social media.

Speaker C

Of course, there are some really harmful trends. However, my friends and I greatly enjoy learning funny dances for Internet challenges. Some of them are rather difficult! I think there is nothing wrong with a social media challenge or trend if it teaches you something or gives you a new skill. For example, I got inspired to go to dance classes after we posted our dances online. I’m rather shy, and I was afraid that people were going to make fun of me — but everyone was really supportive and sweet.

Speaker D

I don’t like trends and challenges because I really don’t like doing what everybody else is doing. I think everyone should try to be unique instead of copying thousands of other people — whom you don’t even know! For example, I create handmade toys and share photos of them online. And yes, I know that it’s not a unique hobby — but at least this is something that I designed myself and made with my own hands, as opposed to simply copying somebody else’s idea. It’s always better to be creative and use your own imagination.

Speaker E

I find most trends useless, but I understand why people follow them. We all want to fit in, to be seen by the others. And what is the best way to be accepted? To be a part of a big crowd where everyone does the same, of course! No one will judge you or be critical towards you, and you might even feel more connected with people from all around the world. Personally, it’s enough for me to be seen and liked by my close friends, so I don’t judge those who choose to follow trends.

Speaker F

In my opinion, online trends are very different, and anyone can find information to their liking. For example, I really enjoy learning about new make-up trends. I want to become a make-up artist one day, and new techniques and tools are very interesting for me. It’s also interesting to see how quickly fashion changes. I don’t understand people who think that make-up is not serious or even unnecessary. I would call it a form of art! Most people just don’t have enough information to apply it properly, whereas it has the power to improve not just your appearance, but your mood as well.

Задача 16

  1. You can always learn something new if you become dissatisfied with your job.
  2. Having a lot of interests can prevent you from making the best career choice.
  3. It’s best to choose your profession as early as you can.
  4. You can worry less if you follow in your parents’ footsteps.
  5. Teens are not good at decision-making, especially about things like their career.
  6. Gathering more information can help you worry less.
  7. Going to the university right after school might not always be helpful.
Решение

Speaker A

Personally, I agree that it’s very hard to choose your profession while still at school. I know a lot of high school students who still have no clue what to do after they finish their studies, and I don’t think it’s a great idea to choose just because you have to and not because you have a strong interest in some field. I think there shouldn’t be so much pressure for teens to decide their whole future – sometimes it’s hard for us to decide what to wear to school!

Speaker B

I really don’t see a problem with deciding what to do after school. Maybe it’s because my whole life I knew exactly who I wanted to be – a doctor, like my parents. I’ve never really thought about any other options, which probably helped me save a lot of time and energy. At school, I can focus on the subjects that will be necessary to enter the medical university – biology, chemistry, things like that. The only thing that I’m not sure about yet is what kind of doctor I’m going to be — but there will be time to figure it out.

Speaker C

From my viewpoint, it’s practically impossible to decide who you are going to be — but not for the reason everyone thinks. I know that a lot of my friends don’t want to do anything, but I have the opposite problem — I want to try everything at once! I’m really interested in journalism, fashion, and psychology. Also, I’ve been doing sports since I was a child, so I could also work as a coach. I don’t want to give up on any of my interests, but it seems that there is just no way to pursue them all professionally.

Speaker D

In my opinion, choosing your future profession at 17 or 18 is far too early. You simply don’t have enough life experience to make the best choice! So yeah, I believe it’s unfair that our parents and teachers want us to make decisions about our whole lives so early. Maybe instead of going to the university right after school, it would be a better idea to travel for a while or to do different small jobs to see what you like and dislike. At least it will give you a chance to learn more about the world.

Speaker E

If you ask me, I’m not super worried about having to choose my major. Right now, I want to become a translator, so I’m learning languages and improving my skills. However, if I realize that this is not a very interesting job for me, it’s always possible to get a second education or just explore similar professions. Some people are afraid of wasting their time on studying something they don’t like, but I firmly believe that anything you learn is useful for you.

Speaker F

The way I see it, high school students should be more proactive when it comes to choosing their future jobs. I agree that it might be stressful but you will never know what you want unless you try something. It could be a good idea to try some summer jobs while you’re at school, to read more about interesting professions of the future or even just to talk to adults you know about their work. The more information you get, the easier it is to figure out what you want and don’t want in life. It’s not helpful to just sit and worry about making the wrong choice.

  1. This way of travelling is the best for eco-conscious adventurers.
  2. This travel mode embodies a sense of nostalgia and a slower-paced approach to exploration.
  3. This way of travelling is perfect for those who seek a profound connection with the places they visit.
  4. It is a tranquil and unique way to discover destinations off the beaten path.
  5. It’s the fastest way to get anywhere quite quickly.
  6. This way of travelling is the combination of several others.
  7. This type of travelling is ideal for those who enjoy spontaneity and flexibility.
Решение

Speaker A

Beautiful views, great service, decent food and accessibility are a few words you can associate with flying, but there’s much more to it. I strongly believe that travelling by air is the fastest and most efficient way to reach distant destinations. It allows us to cover long distances in a short amount of time, maximizing our travel experience. So in my opinion, air travel offers convenience and accessibility, making it an ideal choice for those with limited time or who desire to explore far-flung corners of the world.

Speaker B

I think that everybody will agree that travelling by train offers a unique and immersive experience. It allows us to witness the changing landscapes, interact with fellow passengers, and enjoy the rhythmic motion of the train. Train travel often provides a more relaxed and scenic journey, offering the opportunity to soak in the beauty of the surroundings. It’s the constant motion, the meditative sound of wheels chugging on tracks that attract those who prefer travelling by train. You can just lean back with free Wi-Fi, and a snack cart rumbling up and down the aisles, and watch the scenes pass by, their changing monotony soothing you to sleep.

Speaker C

As far as I feel, travelling by car provides flexibility and freedom. It allows us to explore at our own pace, deviate from planned routes, and discover hidden gems along the way. It seems to me that road trips offer a sense of adventure, enabling us to connect with the local culture and take spontaneous detours. This way of travelling may imply gas stations stops and caffeine refills. I believe that travelling by car offers a personalized and customizable experience.

Speaker D

I guess you will agree that travelling by bicycle allows us to embrace a slower and more intimate way of experiencing the world. You don’t need any gas or costly maintenance. As for me, cycling offers a unique perspective, as it allows us to interact with the environment and connect with the local community on a deeper level. It promotes sustainability and physical well-being, while providing a sense of accomplishment. In general, cycling travel embodies a sustainable and immersive approach.

Speaker E

Travelling by boat opens up a world of exploration on the water. Cruises and sailing adventures offer the opportunity to visit remote islands, explore coastal regions, and witness breathtaking seascapes. It allows us to disconnect from the fast-paced world and immerse ourselves in the serenity of the sea. I think, travelling by boat typically takes much longer than driving, flying, or riding the rails. But there’s also something primeval about crossing from land to land like explorers before us, and, in my opinion, there’s no other mode of transportation that connects you so closely to the elements.

Speaker F

Travelling on foot is the most authentic and intimate way to explore a destination. What I mean is that walking allows us to fully immerse ourselves in the local culture, interact with the locals, and discover hidden gems that may be overlooked by other means of transportation. I hope you will agree that walking encourages mindfulness and a deeper connection with the surroundings. From my viewpoint, travelling on foot offers a slower, more intimate experience than any other way of travelling.
